Youth Match Reports

Minis first trip away this season 20/3/11

It was a damp chilly morning as the sharks made their way to park farm at Dumfries for their Tournament. We collected ourselves together and had a warm up before heading off to our pitches. The P4 and P5's played as one and had games against Mussleburgh, Langholm, Cumnock, Dumfries and Moffat. All were hard fought with some great play from everyone in the team. A special mention for Matthew Coupland who only started 3 weeks ago and played his socks off. Fraser Forsyth, Fraser Wright, Arron Murray,Murray McQuarrie, and Jack Callander were some of our smaller stars with James caygill, Torren Fairclough- Wood, Findlay Long, Cammy Steele and Adam Callander all getting stuck in to the tackling and passing moves. Joseph Stain had to retire due to not feeling great but we all hope to see him again on Wednesday.

The P6,s had their work cut out with some stiff competition and managed to win half of their 5 games. A very great effort was made by all with special mention for Mark Somerville, Andrew McMorrin, Ethan Mitchell, Fergus Mitchell, Fergus Milligan, Murphy Maxwell, and new boys Grant Waugh, Alex Young and Keir Johnstone.

The P7's Stuck in to what ended up to be a long cold afternoon but came away with heads held high and 3 wins under their belts. The lack of subs meant that they all had to play all of the time so I am sure all slept well on Sunday night. Some great tackling and defense play from all and a well deserved mention for Charlie Blackwood, Murray Wright, Matt Maclaren, Bethan Cameron, Lewis Grieve, Graham Bowman and Jason Forsyth for some outstanding running rucking and team attacking play.

A very big thank you to all parents that came along to support and help and to the coaches Marcus, and Neil for such a great effort.
Please remember that this coming Wednesday will be the last training as we will have the Easter holidays off.

REMEMBER the golden rule: If you are at school on a Wednesday then there will be rugby.
