Lockdown 2.0 – What’s our plans

Club News, Covid Updates | 13th Jan 2021

Here we are in lockdown again.
We have been extremely lucky in 2020 to have had limited exposure to Covid cases in our region. Even enjoying a brief stint in Tier 1.

Unfortunately this new strand seems to have a hold of our region and we wish all our NHS staff well in controlling the virus and ask all our community to do their part in helping with that.

While we have a message from Scottish Gov to stay home all rugby at the club will be cancelled.

U14 – U18 Rugby
We are planning to move training online next week and are meeting with our coaching teams to discuss content. So keep your eyes peeled for the links in the next few days.

Mini Rugby
We will be planning challenges to play at home on Sunday mornings for our mini kids from their coaches.
They will be posted on our mini messenger chat. Make sure you check it out and send in your pictures 🙂

Senior Rugby
There is an extended break for seniors. Individual training plans can be followed and if you need help then contact your coaches for guidance.

During the week we will be running a few things during the week to help keep our members entertained at home.
Here’s what we have planned:-

Monday – #MentalHealthMonday
On Mondays our Mental Skills and Wellbeing Coach Steven Hogg will give you hints and tips on dealing with your mental wellbeing during these times

Tuesday – #ThrowbackTuesday
On Tuesday we are hoping our members will submit their old pics for us to show the good old days when we could play rugby. This could be 1980s, 1990s, 2000s or 2010s – any rugby pictures are welcome.

Wednesday – #WorkoutWednesday
In partnership with CrossFit Castle Douglas we will post a home workout for members to do in place of their rugby training or just for fun.

Thursday – #TakeaMomentThursday
Our Mental Skills and Wellbeing Coach Steven Hogg will give you a different podcast to catch up with every week.

Friday – #FitasFriday
In partnership with CrossFit Castle Douglas we will post a home workout for members to do in place of their rugby training or just for fun.

Saturday – #SaturdayStrolls
Dust down your rugby kit – get out and take a walk.
Where ever you go take some pictures and post yourself in your Stewartry kit.

Make sure you use the # and tag us in any pictures on Facebook or Twitter
